Reuse in Climate Pollution Reduction Grants

The EPA’s Climate Pollution Reduction Grants (CPRG) program provides $5 billion in grants to states, local governments, tribes, and territories to develop and implement ambitious plans for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and other harmful air pollution. Authorized under Section 60114 of the Inflation Reduction Act, this two-phase program provides $250 million for noncompetitive planning grants, and approximately $4.6 billion for competitive implementation grants, with proposals due April 1, 2024.

The Notice of Funding Opportunity released in October 2023 for the competitive implementation grants opens the door to reuse proposals in the section on eligible activities within the Waste, Water, and Sustainable Materials Management Sector:

  • "Programs and incentives to reduce GHG emissions associated with plastics production, use, and waste management."

  • “Programs and incentives to reduce or divert waste (including food and/or yard waste) through improved production practices, improved collection services, and increased reuse or recycling rates.”

Perpetual is supporting eligible entities to incorporate reuse into Priority Climate Action Plans and developing funding proposals. Please reach out if you are interested!
